I don't disagree, but the weird thing here to me is that that characterization doesn't even fit the villain Maxwell Lord!

I mean, yeah, JLI's Lord was clearly trying to redeem his amoral leanings and past by managing the world's greatest superheroes or the best substitutes he could get.

Infinite Crisis Lord tried to wave this away with "Ooh, it was my secret master plan to make the League ineffectual so superheroes wouldn't threaten humanity," an idea which only works if you forget the JLI's many, many effectual moments sprinkled in along with the comedy, the working-class entrepreneurialism, and the (shudder, gasp) irreverence toward Batman. Which a lot of the target audience was willing to do.

But even if you try to defend IC Lord as the "correct" version of the character, calling him "the worst of humanity" seems like as much of a misreading of him as he's a misreading of JLI Lord. His second incarnation got so caught up in trying to save the human race from a very real and credible threat that he ended up losing all perspective, betraying every friend he ever had, and trying to kill or escape good people. But that doesn't make him the devil, that makes his life a tragedy.

On the other hand, maybe we're just importing movie versions of semi-obscure characters unaltered now. The Max Lord shown in the Wonder Woman previews does seem like 1980s-model capitalism with a mouth. Calling him the worst of humanity, I could get behind.

So the "Reverse-Flash Family" actually is just the usual Flash rogues working together.
('course it is. Not that multiple Reverse-Flashes isn't unimaginiative in its own way, but still.)
Bold moving actually acknowledging the Tornado Twins exist, though.
But turning them evil... *sigh*. (No, I don't care that it was foreshadowed. It's still exasperating.)


Calling John's Justice League issue 50 a classic... erm...
Not sure you can call a comic book released less than a decade ago a classic. That sounds like stretching the definition just a wee bit.

Okay, two things.

First, I can't comprehend why Johns out of all people would feel the need to write another Batman story as he really doesn't seem to enjoy the character that much.

Second, they are running his Three Joker's miniseries at the same time as the Joker War is running on the mian title, both proclaiming to change the perspective on the character? Like what the hell is happening over at DC?

Man, I’m still really confused on what the heck Year of the Villain is actually supposed to be (Is that about Apex Lex going all Hawk Moth and striking Faustian bargains? Is that about The Batman Who Laughs corrupting heroes into their Dark Multiverse counterparts? Is that just a catch-all term for characters turning evil à la Justice League Odyssey or The Green Lantern? Is that some Forever Evil/LEGO DC Supervillains-esque scenario where the villains take over in the heroes’ absence?), but I am pumped for the new Dark Knights.

Not sure calling Three Jokers the subject of years of anticipation is quite accurate. Even leaving aside my own issues with the premise (Johns once again trying to coopt Alan Moore's legacy despite being hugely influential in his own right because he's pathetically envious of Moore's cultural legitimacy, it being marketed directly towards edgy dudes who are totally disconnected from modern comics) the whole three Jokers premise was mentioned one time that I can remember and then never again. It's less years of anticipation and more "Oh wow, they're actually doing something with that dumb idea we'd all kind of forgotten about."

Dead Planet looks neat, it's funny that Tom Taylor has essentially carved out a niche as the DC guy who does were divergent timelines.
