Things I loved here:
Seeing the rest of the original Hellions are alive and mostly well.
Seeing the Morlocks take issue with the Marauders regarding the whole "mutant massacre" thing, which I've been waiting to see since they introduced the whole Krakoa concept.
The general sense of lunacy. I mean, who was clamoring for a return of Nanny and Orphan-Maker?

This is so going to go horribly wrong.

We see Catseye, Jetstream and Roulette along with Empath, so we can assume Emma wasted no time in making sure her original students came back. :)

Tarot is there as well, so that's every original Hellion alive and accounted for. Even Bevatron showed in the background of New Mutants #1, and he appeared exactly once before Fitzroy killed him. Presumably Beef is somewhere off-panel.

The interior art here is way better than I expected, given that the cover by the same artist looked, frankly, pretty bad. Not only that, but the style actually falls pretty well in line with that established by HoX/PoX, thanks to the inking and coloring.

darn it, see, I was betting on Nanny being the one behind that Outlaw miniseries where they are going after the teen heroes.

Hm, who else could it be? Boogeyman? The Power Pack villain? Got turned into a giant wad of chewing gum during Inferno? Is he still around? Anyone doing anything with him? Okay its Boogeyman.

Outlawed isn't a miniseries, it's a crossover. It just had one one-shot setting everthing up, and the story continues in titles like Champions and New Warriors.

Well whatever. My point is I think a supervillain is behind it. One who hates kids or messes with kids or has a thing for kids (Not in a creepy way, well maybe in a creepy way but not in THAT kind of creepy way).

My number one draft pic was Nanny, but since she's on Krakoa doing stuff that rules her out. So Boogeyman is my next choice, followed by Arcade (Is he still dead?) Dr. Faustus, Taskmaster, Mojo, and at the bottom the other Nanny (the robot Magneto used to take care of the X-men when he had them strapped in those chairs that reduced their minds to those of children.... look its Claremont okay shit gets weird).

Said council includes Magneto, Exodus, Apokalypse, and Xavier, all of whom could probably trash them singlehandedly. Grey, Frost, Shaw etc is a pretty hefty B-team too. I don't think they got much to worry about.

So, this is an X-branded Suicide Squad, then? We've got a quiet guy with guns, the noncriminal minder who leads them in the field, the big boss who dispatches them to clean up his own messes, and a pair of wacky creepy comic relief characters. Presumably Empath is the Captain Boomerang of the lot, treacherous but still useful.
