I liked the grizzled space expat characterization. That role has sort of been filled by Nova now. Quill was the one who got Nova to stop being a wide eyed goof and now he himself has become the goof. This era of Marvel cosmic was so damn good. It’s a shame it has been lost to movie synergy, as much as I adore the James Gunn Guardians films.

It always felt weird that someone with Quill's experiences and skills would become such a total goofball and fuck-up. I'm glad that the recent effort to reconcile his various depictions has tried to explain his more juvenile behavior as an attempt to cope with/repress/block out/whatever his more traumatic experiences.

Because the team we saw in Annihilation was pretty damn cool, especially for a bunch of obscure characters.

My headcanon is that DnA Star-Lord died at the end of Thanos Imperative, and the Bendis-SL that came back was just an a version from some alternate world on the other side of the Fault.

This was the first time Gladiator was shown with softened hair, wasn't it? A good trick considering it was previously rigid enough to use as a weapon against him.
