I saw some of the movie this got turned into on TV last year. I wasn't particularly engaged by it, though it's an interesting concept if you want to go down the "Rapture" path.
I remember seeing this some time ago. There's something a bit unseemly about most of the Left Behind style fiction though; it tends to strike me as torture porn with a side of holier-than-thou-ness.
Huh. That's kind of interesting. Skylar's looking for evidence of the rapture in the bible- but she's looking in the wrong part of it. Her quote is from revelations, whereas the 'rapture' is described in 1 Thessalonians.
(Pretribulationism, or the idea that the Rapture will function as a beam up for all the good Christians *before* everything on Earth gets nasty, is a relatively recent and far from universally accepted interpretation).
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
