Frankly, I think every animated version of king shark has been disappoonting.
They either make him a goofball or a quiet, but sociable, menace.


The version in the 1990s in the superboy comics was far better than what's
in the media nowadays.

The version in Harley Quinn is dead -perfect- in the context of the show, though.

I understand it for the show, because many characters on the Harley Quinn cartoon are "off".
That being said, I remember the impression of King Shark when I wa a kid. It was suspenseful. Especially his underwater fight with superboy. It wasnt even about the physical damage he imposed on people....it was more of the danger than anything else. Now? They've made him a "social killer croc" wannabe in many cases.

There was a talk about that on twitter and the general consensus is that ht Powers That Be Demonic or Otherwise that normally goes after and fucks up John's lovelife just went "...a talking shark? what...the...how..." and walked on.Cause - welp. Talking Shark.
