Oh, hey, it's the Not Justice League getting destroyed on an alternate world by a kooky cosmic threat! Anybody have a count on how often that's happened?
This was a solid issue and has been a really fun arc so far. Sometimes I wonder if people on this forum actually enjoy comics or if they're just waiting around all day for new posts to be made so that they can find something to nitpick and complain about.
I think it’s fair game to poke fun at how the iconic nature of the Justice League’s big seven have become shorthand for comic writers, and how knockoff versions don’t always fare well.
Warren Ellis alone is probably responsible for a dozen JL variants, and the Squadron Supreme accounts for six or so more.
A rule of fandom spaces in general is that a lot of their participants derive a lot of their enjoyment from going " This is my idiosyncratic understanding of the work, and I will shrink everything new about it going forward into that understanding. If I do expand my horizons to include anything new, I will be some kind of condescending in doing so. "
I mean, I enjoy comics. Part of what I enjoy about (Marvel (Superhero)) comics is that they've been around long enough that you can pick out repetitive themes and tropes. I enjoy fairy tales in much the same way- I get a little kick out of pattern recognition when the giant/witch/ogre/whathaveyou dumps a pot of mixed beans or grain on the floor and demands the hero or heroine sort them out.
But sorry for enjoying this in the wrong way, I guess?

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
