'Bout damn time somebody went full Hellstrom with that helmet. I've always thought Ant-Man was under-powered by Marvel's writers, considering the sheer weight, number and rapacity of insects in the world. https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-29281253
You might enjoy the superhero web-serial Worm. Then again, you might not- I had some issues with the story myself, and I don't know your tastes well enough to guess. But it certainly fits the criteria of being aware of just how much destructive (and occasionally constructive!) potential is available to someone with the ability to control all the insects (and, in the case of Worm, arachnids and other invertebrates) in the area.
I second the nomination. If you want a story about someone being really creative with invertebrate control, that's a good one. It has creative powers and great action scenes. It has issues - it's very grim and the main character does some really terrible things in the name of The Greater Good, for example - but it's an enjoyable read.
Absorbing Man was there also, but he somehow got fucked up by trying to absorb Viv Vision and discorporated, even though that's not usually something which should necessarily kill him.
