See, this is the kind of Joker plan I want. Less mass murder, more stealing Bruce Wayne's money.

Meh, he's now no different than several villians if they had the knowledge of batman's identity.
If this was the plan.....its severely unimaginative and incredibly disappointing that it's coming from the Joker, of all people.
The Joker doesnt need to "kill" in order to be who he is....but essentially pulling the "I could have known who batman was all along and now I want to have his money and fight him like the penguin or the court of owls would"????

Huge meh.

Imo, the only reason why this story has got any traction at all is because of punchline.....

Don't get your hopes up, it won't last. His plan probably includes killing everyone with the least bit of claim to the money, all their friends and family, and everyone listed in the phone book under the letter "F" , because why not?

I remember a comic where he escaped Arkham (again) and the first thing he decided to do was to find a phone book and kill everyone whose name was a palindrome in alphabetical order.

I'm mostly curious who the five beneficiaries are. They outright named Dick and the context indicates Alfred is the dead one but what about the other three? My initial reaction is the remaining male Robins (Jason, Tim, and Damian) but that leaves Selena with nothing. Then you have Babs, Kate, Cass, Duke, ect. Plus there are any number of organizations that could be beneficiaries (I doubt he'd just let the Wayne Foundation die with him).

Wait, is this the story where we find out Bruce is one of those weirdos that left a fortune to his pet? I mean, him leaving the money to Ace is more believable than him helping to get Steph and her mom out of poverty.

Only my opinion, but considering how rich he is, I would think he would entrust Dick with his portion of money to help the other bat family members, if needed. I dont think he would leave selina with money because 1. She doesnt need it. 2. She may not even want it. Pride and all.

I could see one of the beneficiaries being Gordon(trusting him to spend the money wisely on the needs of the police) or a charity for orphans.

Yeah, if not for the recent "Ric" stuff, Dick would have been a sensible person to hold the purse strings. He already seemed to have access to Bruce's money anyway.

Honestly I think Selena would be insulted if you just GAVE her money. I could see Bruce telling Dick to "accidentally" let her know where the secret high tech vault is hidden in the manor.

Aside from Dick, I think Babs and Tim have the best chance of doing the most good with the money but she's more BAT than FAMILY and as for Tim ...

Of the Robins I think Tim is more likely to be left out than Jason. I think Bruce is more forgiving of Jason than he lets on and Tim's role in the family has really diminished in recent years.

Damian is his biological son so I'm positive he gets something..

I'm not a huge Batwoman reader but I was under the impression that a lot of Bruce's money came from his mom's side so I assume Kate doesn't really need it.

Actually thought of mentioning the GCPD when talking about organizations but, Gordon aside, that is exactly the kind of police force that people are protesting IRL..

I doubt most of the writers involved are going to remember Steph, Cass, Duke, ect even exist.

My guess would be:
Alfred
Dick
Tim
Damian
Selena

Jason would have been written out for not living up to the Bat-Mantle, and Selena written in when he decided to marry her. Though hey, I could be wrong. Maybe it's Babs.

And undoubtedly he's also left shit-tons to the various foundations, schools, hospitals, and whatnots that he's funded over the years. After all, this is only specifically talking about the Wayne Trust, and not other portions of his immeasurable fortune. (Which is always conveniently just big enough to do whatever Batman needs it to at any given time.)

Imagine being an accountant in a superhero universe. Imagine being a trust officer or whatever who has to deal with this sort of thing every time Bruce Wayne or Lex Luthor or Tony Stark or Oliver Queen go missing, presumed dead. :)

I imagine there's a file somewhere labeled "in the event of my death, disappearance, or being replaced by a doppelganger"

My guess would be Alfred, Dick, Tim, Damian and Duke, but two of those are "iffy" to me.

Selina doesn't need the money, she has her own, or can get it at short notice, it's not like being wealthier would be likely to change her anyway.

The other thing to bear in mind is that the Wayne money is probably quite small compared to the value of Wayne Enterprises itself, which I could see him as being most likely to leave to Tim and Damian, as they would seem to be the one's who'd want to do make use of it.

Cass probably has little appreciation of wealth in and of itself, and the others would make sure she had whatever she needed, wanted, at any time.

Babs and Jim might get bequests, as would Steph, of the sort of money which is small compared to W.E. but enough to keep most people in luxury for a couple of hundred years.

Any thoughts on Jason?

I'm kinda undecided personally. I can't believe Bruce would cut off one of his sons but I also don't think he'd be very happy about knowing his fortune is being used to fund someone using his methods.

Then again I'm positive he'll give money to Damian and he's probably going to end up worse.
