Points for the variation on " mystery villain who turns out to be someone familiar " - the unmasking was by someone who had no reason to care about their original identity, and then the villain effectively becomes an enhanced version of their older self.
Everytime they try to upgrade Scorpion, I feel an irrational fondness for the sleekness of his original design. It's silly, but at least it's not all armor-clad edgy like some of the redesigns have been.
“Has a past, but he’s cool now” in reference to a serial killer is (probably intentionally) the funniest example of superhero comics’ highly contextual approach to morality and forgiveness possible.
So is Peter Parker Spider-Man here or no?
Bringing back Scorpion isn’t a terrible idea, given how he’s tied to Venom these days, but the whole Virus thing and now giving him an evil symbiote just doesn’t seem terribly inspired. Like, we all know that Scorpion is essentially a joke. He might well be the jobbiest of Spidey’s enemies, so unless he’s recontextualized in so way I don’t see him feeling like a real threat.
The Codex = Dylan revelation is silly and expected. I suppose the obvious resemblance between him and Knull is going to be used to loop this book back around to more Knull stuff yet again.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
