It’s happened twice now with poor Cardiac, here and in World of Wakanda, where he was murdering people in exchange for vibranium. The funny thing is that between those two stories he showed up in the Valkyrie series in a heroic role, and Dan Slott had been using him as an occasional supporting character in his Spider-Man stuff.
I wasn't aware about World of Wakanda. That's a shame. Cardiac is one of those Spider-Man characters, like Puma, whose potential is wasted. Heck, if they want diversity in Spider-Man movies, those two would be far more interesting than a black Electro.
I was worried about how Cantwell would handle the Absorbing Man, given his current portrayal over in Hulk. Turns out I shouldn't have, since the whole fight was just a few pages long, a random Arcade setup, and really ended with a fizzle. So while at least Carl didn't go bad randomly... this was just such a yawn moment.
it feels like random scenes spliced together instead of an engaging narrative. And the Alex Ross design has too many shiny lights on it, though I like the modern take on the Classic armor
You'd think Tony might have, I don't know, a very focused laser that would be a better tool for opening a big steel ball with people inside it than just ramming it as hard as he can...
The story has justification - right after " Already headed your way.. ", Tony's systems tell him that the sphere's composition includes vibranium and adamantium.

Arguably, that exchange makes " ..have you ever had to look past your own privilege? " redundant.
