Roy Thomas and Dick Giordano’s adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula is one that spans thirty years. It started in 1974 and was serialized in Marvel’s black and white horror magazines. These magazines were eventually cancelled leaving the story unfinished. Decades later in 2004 Thomas and Giordano were approached by Marvel to complete their work.

Excellent art. I can see why Marvel eventually invited them to pick up where they'd left off. Thank you for posting this.

HOW?

I mean, it's one book. One.

How could the serialisation of one single book possible last 30 years and still remain unfinished? Even if they had just adapted one single chapter of the book per year, that still should have been enough.

It didn't take thirty years of unbroken effort to finish the adaptation: the adaptation was prematurely cancelled in the 1970s, let lie for decades, then resumed and finished in 2004.

Ahhhhhh that makes sense, thanks ^^"

(I guess I didn't question it because several series I'm following have in fact been going on for literal decades. My grandnephews will have to narrate the ending of Minekura's Saiyuki to my gravestone)

Agreed with the other poster that the art is gorgeous.

A wise move on Marvel's part to get the original creators back to finish this, and that it looks so damned good!
