The whole not-Justice League, if I recall correctly.

Hickman and a couple of the Dr. Strange writers that have written the good doctor's adventures recently seem to have missed entire decades of stories in which Strange is an intensely compassionate and moral man who studied spiritual enlightenment under the Ancient One as well as how to recite weird poems and make funny colored zap bolts.

I haven't read much Dr Strange, outside of the odd issue from Mark Waid's recent run (hard to go wrong with Jesus Saiz on art) and, uh, a mini where he was trying to cure cancer with night nurse?

Indeed. Which is precisely why my daughter - a massive Strange fan, having fallen in love with the character in (of all things) "Super Hero Squad" and then devouring every Marvel Masterworks and 70s/80s TPB I could find for her - won't read any modern stories.

It's really disheartening how many characters are now written to be broken and morally compromised instead of intensely compassionate and moral.
