You know, there are versions of Doom where I could believe he's sincerely told himself this all along, and there's versions where I'd read it more as "Sometimes a little evil is necessary for the greater good, and it is fortunate for the people of Latveria that they have a monarch like DOOM to choose for them."

The self reflection in "I have selfishly injured my herald's soul," is something fairly new though, I think.

Ah yes. Wearing full, powered, armor while swordfighting a woman in an evening dress, and then acting like it's a accomplishment when you win. There's that famous Doom sense of fair play on full display.

What else would you suggest Doom to wear? Doom and his Doombots only wear regular clothes when he’s either having a moral epiphany or considering being good.

I was scrolling past this and only half read the title so I mistook the cover for some kind of Doom video game comic.

...now there’s a thought: what would Doctor Doomguy/Doomslayer look like?
