Our new theme week - Lgbtqa+ !

Well, we asked a couple of weeks back for votes on a new Theme Week, and the one which had the most votes I believe, was....

LGBTQA+ !

("Women of Colour" came in behind that, so we'll maybe save that one for January!)

So... Give us your Gays! Lavish Love on your Lesbians! Bombard us with Bewitching Bisexuals! Treat us to your Triumphant Transsexuals, Quicken our hearts with your Queers, and Adore your Asexuals!

And, of course, add anything else I overlooked in the entire glorious spectrum in between and beyond! ("Pamper your Pansexuals!" for example)

Of course, we encourage you to post these at any time, but let's see how many we can get over the next seven days!

So fly my pretties, we're not just looking for requests, we want to see you make posts and share scans, first time posters get extra kudos!

It's really good. Once I read issue 2, I grabbed all of them and marathoned it. The art change in the third part bothered me a bit, but the rest of it was beautiful.

The only one I can think of was Tremor in Gail Simone's The Movement back in 2013 or so.

Hopefully there are others...

While it's not in the comics themselves, I believed that Samn Maggs established that Nadia Pym is asexual in the prose book that came out recently, and Jeremy Whitley confirmed that he'd been working towards establishing that in the comics.

There's so little ace representation that I'm hoping this can count.

Dio/Dionysus from The Wicked + The Divine is asexual, and probably the most fundamentally decent human being/reincarnated god among the cast.

Warlock, maybe? Widget? Marston-era Etta Candy? A lot of sidekick & mentor characters are written as implicitly asexual so that they won't threaten or compete with the protagonist's sexual awakening.

Has Metron ever been sexually interested in anyone/thing?

I'd also vote for Data; I don't think he's ever been sexual except under duress.

His night with Tasha Yar occurred under some iffy circumstances (she was affected by polywater intoxication, and at some point infected him as well) but I don't think there were any signs that he was unwilling or under duress when he confirmed that he was fully functional and programmed in multiple techniques- a broad variety of pleasuring.

Then again, experimenting with humanity was his whole thing so it's entirely possible that he thought that sex was worth a try and then decided that it didn't do anything for him and wasn't a necessary part of his growth. I don't think you lose your ace card for taking a while to figure things out.

You're right, "duress" is the wrong word for the polywater thing. But it was still involuntary intoxication, and Data's verdict on sex seemed to be "look what I can do for potential partners," not "I'm enjoying this for me."

His brief fling with Lieutenant D'Sora was along similar lines; he wanted to cheer her up, but as soon as there was no more need for romance he discarded the idea apparently without regrets.

...because she wasn't Geordi, obviously.
