Nicely pointed - and, per those interviews with Philip Kennedy Johnson (" I hope to build on Superman’s mythology in a big, big way, with new characters, settings, lore, etc., but no slates need to be wiped for any of that to happen. "), not yet doomed to be tinged with a bitter irony.

Not sure if "nicely pointed" is the term I'd use for it, it feels more like Bendis being petty since Teen Jon completely failed to entice readers.

If you’re assuming everyone hates it and therefore he’s included the line out of spite you are.

People have said tried to argue that everyone hates Bendis ever since he started working at Marvel decades ago. This is nothing new. His work on Daredevil and the Bagley era of USM are considered to be his best works but you would never know that if you just browsed the forums.

Not show here. Scientists and Mister Terrific at the Hall of Justices science lab has been studying superboy and there is evidencethat he will lose his powers as he gets older eventually. I wonder if that will play out that informationin a future storyline.

Love that Superman says that Superboy is like bother to him and that Martha and Jonathan are included with being his family. He can visit them whenever he needs to for support.

Supergirl seems to have a crush on Brainiac five.

Really enjoy Jon getting to spend time with his parents.

Honestly, I wouldn't make too big a deal out of a playful one-speech-balloon jab, especially when the last page is a classy "allow me to thank" sequence and the story incorporates plot points from Matt Fraction's bonkers Jimmy Olsen, which can't have been easy.

One thing I really liked was Conner living with the Kents again. Since Clark's revealed his identity, Parasite or Metallo or Atomic Skull going after them is a no-brainer. Conner staying with them, guarding them, keeping them safe is an elegant solution. I haven't been a fan of all of Bendis' take on Superman, for sure, but he had some good ideas--the "invisible mafia" seems obvious in retrospect and he was good at, capturing the essential optimism that's inherent in Superman.
