He has the unfortunate malady of "Not being Barry Allen". Much like Kyle Rayner has "Not being Hal Jordan".

Some writers have blinders when it comes to the "awesomeness" of some of the older characters. Aside from running fast, the "Flash of Two Worlds" and his sacrifice against the Anti-Monitor in Crisis (possibly his GREATEST moment) are there really any storylines Barry is known for? Sure he had a great rogue's gallery but the character was dull. To be fair, that was a problem which many Silver Age characters had.

All my opinion of course.

Yours, and Joshua Williamson's at the very least, judging by some of his work on the Flash.

It's the same reason DC absolutely fucking hates Cassandra Cain, to the point that they had her excluded from the DC: Women of Action book. She committed the crime of not being Barbara Gordon.

Same reason it didn't even occur to them to give Stephanie a Robin's case when she died.

Why I'm I not surprised anymore? At least when Geoff did bring Hal back in Green Lantern: Rebirth, he wasn't petty enough to kill off Kyle, not alone disrespect him.
