The CW's latest addition starts in a little over a fortnight, and we have a new trailer for it.

I like the idea of Clark returning to the farm, and Tyler Hoechlin proved he had everything required to play Superman in his Supergirl cameos, though I'm slightly confused by the fact the actor is 33 and so doesn't quite look old enough to have two kids in their late teens. (especially given they weren't even born in his Supergirl appearances). Still, could be fun!

Hot Toys have announced their latest very high end, VERY expensive, yet almost freakishly accurate 12 figures, this time from Batman Forever. (Which is over now a quarter of a century old... Yikes!)

Okay, the Batman is impressive, but I'm sorry, me being me, I just can't... quite... with the Robin!

Chris O'Donnell's Robin is a depiction I have seen referenced more than once as the moment of awakening for many a burgeoning not-as-straight-as-they-thought-they-were youth.

Now keeping the nipples (an addition from Joel Schumaker) was more or less inevitable (in terms of accuracy) but I'm guessing that perhaps they hadn't QUITE anticipated how prominent a certain other area of the outfit is when presented in figure form!

But it's not like it's NOT screen accurate, it's just the lighting was perhaps a little less blatant on screen.

Can't wholly fault a series that's going to be using at least some part of Busiek/Pacheco Superman.

Crisis gave Clark two kids, that's why you don't remember them from his Supergirl appearances.

And the one who was born in-show prior to that was a newborn at the point of the reboot, not a teenager.

They also said something on a prior season of Supergirl about Kryptonians not aging as fast as human beings do once they reach adulthood. (Which made me guffaw, as Hoechlin has looked like a man in his mid 30s since about the age of 25...)

Isn't Superman kind of ageless though? I mean, he's kind of like Wonder Woman, once they hit 30 they don't age. Actually, come to think of it? 98% of the characters in action comics stay between 22-45 forever. I've decided it's the powers - they just keep you perpetually between the ages of 22-45.

I'm so very happy you chose to share this with the rest of SD Icon UK (The Robin figure I mean).

As I said on Tumblr, Joel Schumacher had a vision. An incredibly horny vision.

It worries me that there have been enough battles to determine that...

Not exactly a high bar to clear.

I mean, even if you hate the Schumacher Batman movies, you gotta respect the guy. At a time when everyone was turning their nose up at the 66 Adam West Batman show, and trying to pretend it never happened or treating it like a joke (Because Ooh Batman needs to be dark and edgy and MY PARENTS ARE DEAAAAD). Schumacher leaned into the Adam West Aesthetic with his bright colorful Gotham and super extra over the top villains. And you gotta respect the bravery of him doing that,

Zak Snyder takes liberal narratives (Like Superman and dawn of the dead), removes the original context and rewrites them as conservative propaganda. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to have an objectivist write Superman of all people, but just....gaaah, Snyder, if we let you write a Mr. A movie, will you promise to fuck off and never write super heroes again?

I hope this somehow leads to Superboy Red and Superboy Blue.

And never ever to one of the kids going evil to be raised by Lex Luthor or something.

Jon Cryer's Lex has been without a doubt one of the best villains of the CW DC shows so far

Isn't this show still dealing with the fallout of firing a writer after she tried to turn the show around from seeming... too one sided with racial depictions?
