NS: New look at Jared Leto as Joker in Justice League

One of the big additions to the upcoming 'Snyder Cut' is the return of Jared Leto's Joker. I personally felt he got the short end of the stick with Suicide Squad; the facial tattoos and capped teeth were awful but I didn't think his performance was as bad as people made it out to be.

In the Snyder cut we see Joker in a post-apocalyptic future teaming up with Ben Affleck's Batman and he's sporting a new look.

 



From Zach Snyder: “The cool thing about the scene is that it's Joker talking directly to Batman about Batman. It's Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That’s the thing I also felt like fans deserved from the DC Universe. That is to say, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It seemed uncool to me that we would make it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together.”

Well, I have to give Snyder one thing. His version of Joker finally got a laugh out of me, in a climax of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker sort of way at least.

The look didn't originate with Manson and this owes more to something like Brandon Lee in The Crow anyways.

Given that allegations of abuse and grooming underage girls have been levelled at Leto for as many years as Manson (and confirmed by at least one member of this community if memory serves), it's hard to imagine that it could make his reputation any worse.

It is pretty ironic that Ray Fisher has been one of the loudest proponents in getting the Synder cut made, (and I think his calling out Whedon was in no small part motivated by it) and now we're getting More Leto Action.

Better than the SS look, but I still would've preferred a traditional looking Joker. Purple tuxedo, pale skin and green hair. Is that so hard to pull off? Why all these deviations from a perfect design?
