God, I can't tell you how little I care about Heroes Reborn. It looks like it is another series I will be completely ignoring. At least it doesn't affect titles I actually care about.

Okay, I rather like the idea of casting Peter Parker as Jimmy Olsen, and Shutterbug is a cute name.

Kind of amused at the blatantness of Heroes Reborn.
"Yeah, we're just doing Marvel as the DC universe. What're they gonna do about it?"

Maybe DC should get back at them, with an all-new Blue Beetle, or the Doom Patrol moving to a remote island, wiping out the Green Lanterns, and introducing a young, spunky teenager Wonder Girl...

-"The Human Torch's life is changed forever when he must choose between his soulmate and his ex-wife"-
Ooh, a choice between Lyja or Peter? Tough break for Johnny.
...
... oh, they don't mean Peter, do they?

Though I'm guessing the story is not going to involve Doom marching in and marrying Johnny himself (interpret that however you like).

Personally, I'm just dismayed at the fact that we're apparently still not done with Outlawed. Sure, the label's been removed from the comic covers and the wiki page for the event gathers dust, but the fact that the Champions blurb is still going on about Kamala's Law suggests that the teeth of the tick still remain in the bite.

Well the fact that they are infiltrating Roxxon seems to suggest that we;re entering the endgame of it. Like this is some kind of Roxxon plot, they orchestrated the attack on that Greta Thurnburg stand in (Which we already knew) then manipulated politicians to come down hard on underaged super heroes, so they could have them rounded up for reasons (Probably to brainwash them into being future Corporate shills for Roxxon). And now the Champions are gonna expose Roxxon's dirty dealings and get Kamala's law repealed.

Marvel and DC's various riffs on each other are usually amusing at the very least, so I can get past the logical problem that the Marvel Universe (at least in comics) is not and never has been built around the Avengers, to the point that if the Avengers never formed it wouldn't be massive difference, so this could be fun. Interesting that the Magneto & The Mutant Force, plus the specificity of the Squadron Supreme of America suggest that this world is going to look a little nastier and more jingoistic than just a straight DC riff. I still think the Heroes Reborn branding seems a little weird for the event though.

Of the various Heroes Reborn books, gotta say that Magneto and the Mutant Force sounds most interesting, thanks to the involvement of Steve Orlando.

Reptil seems like a really out of nowhere announcement. I remember he was part of the Superhero Squad kids show, but besides that I don't recall him having done much in years. Really curious about what this book is going to do, even though it's probably not gonna be for me.

Fantastic Four: Life Store has my attention, I quite enjoyed the Spider-Man series (though not as much as some did) and seeing more of these prestige series from Marvel could be cool, especially with the FF being as tied into both the heart of the Marvel U and Cold War Space Race politics. I just hope it does a better job balancing the real time conceit with classic continuity, I felt Spider-Man: Life Story really struggled in its attempt to do both.

Immortal Hulk is a must buy of course, pumped to see things come to head after an extended arc of building up dread.

While the blurb makes it all about the Avengers, it seems the FF and Spidey are out of the picture as well. And to be fair, while not everything about revolves around them one can see how their absence early on could have some long term effects

It's no surprise mutants have a worse deal in a Squadron universe, as they've always been a lot more morally questionable, and veering on fascism. The Avengers have always been shaky on mutant issues, and I think this very event is almost to say "See?! See what the alternative would be?", but I do think it's logical and in-character for these events to turn out as they did.

EDITORIAL: Hey, it's been 25 years since Heroes Reborn. Do an homage series.

WRITERS: But Heroes Reborn was a disaster. No one remembers it fondly.

Well they already did his version of One More Day and it was....not terrible.

If the current plan for Miles is "redo terrible Spider-man Stories with him but less terrible" then.....well I don't like it but its better than what they could be doing. Like He's not gonna be in Avengers Arena 2 now streaming on Mojo+.

I don't know, doing marginally better versions of bad Peter Parker stories really does seem like the biggest possible indication that Marvel has no idea what to do with the character. Heaven forfend they should actually have someone do something new with the character. Really, this has been the problem with Miles Morales from basically day one. Even Bendis ended up dragging the character back into Ultimate Peter Parker's circle of characters and plotlines.

The Agents of Atlas are calling into the conference as well...
Roberto DaCosta is running a few minutes late but has some things to say about his time running AIM.

I hadn't considered the Agents of Atlas- I suppose Woo even specifically has experience with "Evil organizations previously run by Fu Manchu expies."

I did think of Roberto, especially since I think he also at one point tried reforming the Hellfire Club, but I wasn't sure Pete'd be able to get ahold of him in a hurry. (Do they have phones on Krakoa? I seem to recall something about them building an emergency contact network that involved whispering to plants, but I think that only works once you're actually on the island.)

I'm trying to think if Pete has any personal relationships with other X-men. I keep getting stuck on Kitty but I'm 99% sure them dating was just a mirror universe thing.

Edit: Mirror universe? I've been watching too much Star Trek. Ultimate Universe, it is.
