Yay. More grimdark unnecessary background spelling out in gritty, gruesome detail what was cleverly alluded to in a few panels of Watchmen. This is like the Star Wars fandom that creates a malady called Tarkin's Disease because Princess Leia mentions recognizing Tarkin's "foul stench" on board the Death Star.
