So this is definitely some kind of power effect, right?
I feel bad for her, because she's pretty clearly frustrated, but an empty beach and a huge stack of books actually sounds like a pretty great weekend to me.
Pretty much. It's implied that her looks and powers cause her to give off an aura that makes any guy feel intimidated and inadequate around her, like they're unworthy to even be in her presence.
and of course the idea that *maybe* she's not sexually interested in other women doesn't even occur to you. or maybe if she unconsciously directs that aura towards women they'd have the same reaction. not everyone is inherently gay or even bi, despite what some people want to believe. and you know what? that's perfectly fine to be 100% hetero. regardless, it's moot given that Sheldon's wife eventually leaves him, leading him to get together with Jane anyway. given their powers, I can only imagine the....force that occurs whenever they have sex. in the Dark Knight Strikes Again, a scene where Superman and Wonder Woman have sex results in massive earthquakes and tsunamis, so I'd wager it'd be the same here
Aaaaand straight (lol) to the offence. Showing you don't care about someone's else choices about their own life, just "my tastes are the better one, people who likes different things are just stupid". Okay.
Yeah, I'm not sure I buy this.I get 60's sexism and it's one thing for her to not be able to have relationship, but no guy would even go for a one night stand?
That's why I'm saying she needs to get herself some lady loving
Because I don't know a single woman who would say "No" and run off when a woman like that said the words"I just want it hard up against the door" to them
Considering that Wonder Woman was co-created by a guy in the 40s, I don't think even 60's sexism is much of an explanation. Dominant women have had fans since forever.
Honestly, the first thing I'd guess is that Sheldon's stalking her and it's his powers driving everyone away.
One thing I thought the series does well, that doesn't really comes across from the scans here, is combining the mundane with Silver Age superhero craziness. The scene at the office ends with the world attacked by supervillain who steals all colors and the following opens with them casually talking over purple drinks how orange hasn't come back yet. It really gives a sense of it being the golden age of pulpy heroism to the present of Jupiter's Legacy and contrasts the human drama and social realities of the times depicted.
Wait, Sheldon is a CEO? WTF? I've never bought into the myth that they're any smarter or better at decision making than the average person but he doesn't seem to even have the backbone to stand up to the kinds of sociopaths that gravitate toward executive positions.
I'd say he'd get eaten alive by his subordinates in the real world but, considering his eventual fate, ....
Opening of Legacy shows he comes from rich family, that got on hard times during depression. Also, Skyfox (the purple guy) left him all his stuff when he left.

The reason we don't eat there isn't that we're ignorant of its existence but rather because we have access to something better
