There's been some debate and back and forth as to whether or not Peter snapped her neck when he grabbed her or if the shock killed her. But the general consensus is that it was the neck snap.
Granted I wouldn't be surprised if she was already dead before Norman threw her off and it isn't like she'd have survived the fall anyway.
Personally I think Peter technically killed Gwen but it wasn't really his fault because she would have died no matter what given the situation Norman put her in. Obviously that doesn't mean anything to Peter because he's the single most guilt-driven hero out there.
It's gone back and forth, with some reprints even removing the snap entirely. Generally, they leave it semi-ambiguous so the reader can go with the conclusion they prefer.
DC *did* sue Marvel over its first Squadron Supreme mini-series. It was ruled that, because DC never contested the characters all the previous times Marvel used them, they couldn't do so now... with the *exception* of the Skrullian Skymaster because he was a new character created for the mini. Which is why his role was significantly reduced in the series and they mostly called him "The Skrull."
His "night strength"? Say what? I thought it was Moon Knight was the one who used to have increased strength at night. I mean, not anymore, but he used to. The fuller the moon, the stronger he got. ...or was that Grey Hulk?
