Gotta wonder what sorta secret Illuminati code Reed was whispering to the Prof, but I'm more mystified by exactly what Kate's trying to tell Franklin. "Too cool for you"?

I figure it's Kate seeing herself to Franklin as what Wolverine was to her. Which isn't a great thing to see yourself as, admittedly

I think Kate is very gently teasing Franklin because she thinks that will make him feel better than offering nothing but platitudes. A platitude now and again is nice ("Disappointed or angry? Never"), but they start to sound empty after a while. By treating him like a little brother, Kate sends the message that she still thinks of him as family, despite their current circumstances.

These are cool and funny moments, respectively, but the best part is the part where Emma feels a little shiver of attraction pass between her and Steve Rogers... and then realizes why.

Are the X-books the only ones where characters from other franchises consistently get the better moments? I feel like historically when the X-Men appear in the massive crossovers, Avengers or FF books, they come out looking inferior or subordinate but when the reverse happens, the X-Men still get owned.

I’m tired of Mutants being less than. Krakoa is a step in the right direction but I want more X-fan service. Bendis is the only one who I can think of who provided those moments multiple times.

Given that that... feeling has never been mentioned before, it can only have been triggered in this instance by Ms Frost's outfit, which raises ALL SORTS OF QUESTIONS.

I'm fervently hoping that it's something Steve, who has worked with and against mind manipulators over a very long period of time, just throws up as a defence whenever he feels someone probing his thoughts.

Which is, as seen, effective against Emma, but pretty much DESTROYED Doctor Druid that one time.

And if he ever did this, Krakoa would and should immediately have X-Force "deal" with Reed Richards permanently just as they would with any human that threatens the freedom and prosperity of mutantkind

Still hideously amused by all that talk of “we’re his REAL family, we can do things you cannot provide, we genuinely care about him as a person” and then they immediately drop him the minute they realise he wasn’t too what they thought he was. They never cared about Franklin. Though perhaps she’s saying “that 4’s too cool for you, an X would be more appropriate”?

Given Charles and Max/Erik/whatever Magneto’s real name is explicitly told the world governments their ultimate goal is to take over the world, Doom’s has a right to laugh hard.

Actually what they said was that they plan to use a mixture of political, financial and social influence to create a world in which anti-mutant bigots have absolutely no resources, influence or power to do anything and all of the people making the decisions are doing so in the name of supporting mutant rights

Which is a goal I absolutely support because I would do the exact same thing in their position.

Two really good interactions. The scene between Reed and Xavier leaves me hoping that we'll see some follow up on the terrible "Franklin only thought he was a mutant" plotpoint, though given that Slott's still writing FF perhaps I shoudn't get my hopes too high.

That Shi'ar ambassador blowing up Emma Frost's spot there is also really great.

Emma has always been one of my favourites in the X-men comics and she looks absolutely amazing here as she should. She has the actual best wardrobe

They plant their gates where the choose, the violate borders at will, they strip people of free will if they disagree with them, that says conquest to me. The abused always becomes an abuser, is what Marvel has [intentionally or otherwise] said with the current X-Conquest.

I completely support what mutantkind has been doing to protect and liberate their people and make sure they can live free of fear, hatred and violence and I am perfectly fine with them "Violating the borders" of countries where the government is being run by bigoted and hateful bastards who are oppressing, enslaving or murdering mutants.

Nor do I remotely care what they do to any of the repulsive bigots or fascists who threaten mutantkind. As far as I'm concerned any human in the Marvel universe who is an anti-mutant bigot deserves whatever happens to them and anything mutantkind does to get rid of them as a threat is fine by me

And yes they absolutely do plant their gates whereever they may be needed so mutants can easily and safely reach Krakoa. Which is an excellent idea. The Krakoan gates are a brilliant concept that will help many mutants and are also a system of transport that carries zero risk and causes absolutely no pollution. The gates also do no harm to anyone so I am really not sure what the issue with them is

Honestly the only mutants I've seen doing bad things in the new era are ones that we're meant to see as bad people doing bad things. Whether that's out and out villains like Shaw and Sinister or just assholes like Beast. The stories have not been subtle about the fact that these are bad people making bad choices and have not tried to treat what they're doing as good or right
