This is like the pinnacle of oblivious videogame guy politics, but given that it's Duke Nukem I'm willing to entertain the idea that this is supposed to be completely ridiculous. Does the rest of the series read similarly, or is this scene actually supposed to be read straight?

I mean, when it comes to Duke as a character it comes off as the most in-character way to have him not be a reactionary asshole while still being Duke.

Yeah, the more I look at it the more I think it's perfectly in line with the whole Duke Nukem brand; even when it's po-faced it's still goofy dude-bro comedy.

I would dearly love a Duke Nukem movie to be made that is every bit as beautifully stupid as the games are

The only problem is who would play him who could possibly have both the right look and be able to play such a ridiculous character but play it completely seriously. You can't play a character like this "Ironically". You have to play it like it's 100% a serious role or else the comedy just becomes cringe-y

He supports strippers and sex workers with actual money, say what you will about Duke being a macho, womanizing loser but you could easily frame him as a champion of women's rights as well!

Duke is a horny dumbass but he's pro sex work, sex positive and all his hook ups with women are shown to be enthusiastically consensual

Yes he's only interested in women for their bodies but at least he's honest about the fact that he's just out to have as much sex as he can while he can. He couldn't be accused of leading anyone on about what he wants out of a "Relationship"

Basically Duke Nukem is a better person than every self described "Nice Guy" who has ever plagued the earth
