Warren is less intolerable here than I normally find him. But yeah I am definitely reading this book for the ladies and not for him

It reminds me of that bit in Arkham Asylum: Living Hell where the Joker informs a crooked CEO piece of garbage who conned his way into being declared "Legally insane" to get out of jail time that he's the worst person he has ever met and basically says "Sure I may kill people but at least I don't steal their kids college funds"

I do love X-corp effortlessly showing him up at the end there and also demonstrating how pathetic and powerless his goons are. That was very satisfying

Business dude is a jerk and he’s acting in bad faith, but he’s got a point: are Krakoa’s operations in the Savage Land ethical (or even legal)? And fudge, did they just let all those Madrox dupes die? Heck, isn’t the way they’re using Madrox basically just slave labour with extra steps?

Legal perhaps not but I am all for breaking the law for a good reason. Ethical I would say yes because all they are doing is finding new ways to help people. If it was something like Beast and his shady X-force operations that would be another matter

And I wouldn't say that using the Madrox Dupes like this is "Slave labour" no. The duplicates aren't true individual people they're copies of one guy who he can create and have do things for him. It's basically like an organic version of an AI like Ultron operating multiple bodies

I mean, the thing is - they're all duplicates of a man who believes, fundamentally, that it's okay to use his duplicates as free labor. So they all believe it, too. Or at least, the current canon's version of Jamie Madrox does, it seems.

Yeah, I know Jamie's life was treated as disposable even before the current status quo made most mutant life disposable but you'd think Monet of all people would understand that the dupes are still individual people.

International Law.

The big threat to a super powered nation state was supposed to be International Law.

When are comics books going to catch up to the reality-one which even small children know- that no one gives two tugs about "International" law. Especially not freaking mega-coprs and nation states.

In the MU, that means countless superhumans, or super armies or what have you.

Krakoa ought to be more observant of international law, because the nations that follow their example have bigger budgets and more reliable tools.

Years back, I gave those "Left Behind" books a chance just to see what the fuss was about.

I realized they were basically science fiction when it hit me the authors seriously thought the Secretary-General of the United Nations is the most powerful man on Earth who, if he wanted, could demand every nation dismantle 90% of their military and they have no choice to comply.

Find me one in 200 people who can even name the current Secretary-General without looking it up. And that's without how easy a one-world currency, religion and language are implemented.

And speaking of international law, just once, I want a movie, TV show or comic to address the fact that Interpol is NOT a global FBI with special agents who can take over an American police force's case but just handle data between agencies with no real law enforcement power.

I gotta say, I appreciate what's being attempted here, but I don't like any of the characters or what's happening. I appreciate that some folks like Monet's 'I'm better than everyone all the time' vibe, but I find it irritating, personally. I'm not a big fan of Warren, but why put him in this comic if he's just there to look like a clueless chump being disrespected by every other cast member and who doesn't actually know whats going on (and his teammates are excluding him from knowing)? Maybe it's supposed to be a gag, 'ha look at the privileged rich white dude who is totally useless'? I guess I get that, but it seems a bit forced to me. I also guess we're resetting Jamie's personality again? Well, if any character can pull that off logically in-canon, it'd be him.

This is fine, I just don't think it's for me.

I think Warren's being set up as the company conscience so he can either pull everyone back when they go too far or make it clear they've really gone too far this time. That, or as an audience stand-in for the people who aren't here for Penance's "girlbosses can be greedy and amoral, too!" shtick.

There's so much to hate about this issue. The one-dimensional evil guy and his incoherent metaphors - why were you in business with this dick, Xavier? Warren being written as an incompetent wimp who thinks ransomware isn't extortion. This take on Madrox.

The part that gets me, though? Nova Roma, the secret city in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, is apparently visible from Rio de Janeiro. In reality, there's about 3,000 km distance between, because Brazil is more than just the Amazon. You'd have an easier time seeing the Hollywood sign from Texas.
