Superman is apparently turned into a baby and both Lois and Lana scheme to influence him to choose them when he is turned back.





It is eventually revealed that the baby Superman wasn’t their Superman but one from an alternate universe.

Nah, no bandage. With the amount of rivalry, scheming, and non-sexualized-but-outlandish attitudes toward marriage, this has "Mort Weisinger" written all over it.

The Lois Lane book was just an excuse for Weisinger to show his misogyny, which was awful even by standards of the time.

If this weren't the Silver Age, I'd have just said the reason Alternate Lois and Lana were smiling in that last panel was because they're secretly after one another, and this solved that particular issue.
(mind you, judging by Regular Lois and Lana's expressions... and Superman's not terribly keen one...)
