With the blood dry at Gotham’s fourth gruesome murder scene in as many weeks, Batman is stumped. The same hallmarks haunt each investigation: brute-force entries, bodies ripped to shreds and stamped with enormous bite marks, and clumps of fur—wolf fur—scattered in the wreckage. The streets buzz with rumors of the “Werewolf of Gotham.” Determined to crack this case, Batman finds no leads and a mysterious, hairy, chain-smoking figure dogging his every move. The Dark Knight’s dangerously close to losing his cool when a series of bombings levels the city’s libraries in the days leading up to the 32nd annual Gotham Literary Festival.
As Batman narrows in on the Bookworm and his literary henchmen, he discovers that an invaluable book from another world is at the center of the violence. Stranger still, the wolf is in on it. But what kind of monster is built from such brains and brawn—and is he an enemy or an ally?
Worlds collide as a Gotham mystery kick-starts a return to the world of Fables!

It seems promising. I want to read Miracle Molly, Aquaman, Urban Legends, Super Sons, all Milestone titles, Justice League Infinity, Robin, RWBY, and Wondergirl.

I am Batman - Cool that the Jay Fox Batman is finally getting an ongoing, but it's very strange to me that it's taken this long and had such a seemingly tepid buildup. It seems like every time I see a review of one of Ridley's stories with the character, from the original Future State issues to the mini, it's lamenting that the whole thing is mediocre.

Batman: Urban Legends - Pumped to finally see a Batman Beyond story that's written by someone who probably grew up with the show, rather than someone who writes like they're one million years old.

Batman vs Bigby - Not excited for this. Even leaving aside some negative feelings about Bill Willingham's politics in general and the textually pro-Israel nature of Fables coming at this particular moment, coming back with a Black Label book crossing over with Batman is just the most disappointing thing. It gets back to my general evaluation of Black Label, which is that the majority of the line is nostalgic dude-bro comics where they can cuss now.

Aquaman: The Becoming and Black Manta make a hell of a one-two punch. Finally giving Jackson Hyde some time to shine and giving Aquaman himself a much needed rest (nothing against the quality of the books, but Arthur Curry's been in a weird place ever since they started trying to figure out how to make him more like the Jason Momoa version of the character). Very excited for Valentine De Landro's art in Black Manta.

Deathstroke Inc - I actually really like Christopher Priest's run on Deathstroke, though I'm by no means invested enough in the character to buy this without hearing some positive buzz. Mostly I'm just surprised that DC is still pushing Deathstroke so hard after The Other History of the DC Universe so effectively broke down the character's whole myth.

Batgirl of Burnside Omnibus - I have a great fondness for this era for not just Batgirl, but the Batbooks as a whole. Still, it's hard not to think about the shadow cast over it by the accusations against Cameron Stewart and I feel like it's a tough recommendation because of that.

Last Knight on Earth TPB - I blogged about this book when the hardcover came out, it's a fun read and the pinnacle of the misanthropic streak running through Snyder's Batman work. I think it's a little sloppy in the resolution, but it's a much better cap to Snyder and Capullo's collaboration than the extended Embarrassing-Metalhead-Dad wet fart of Metal and Death Metal.

Just from a skim through those solicits, I can't woprk out what the general direction of the Batman books is, other than A LOT OF IT

Man there's a really awesome energy just reading those Bat-previews and I keep digging the way Tynion is adding elements to the mythos.

The only negative is my groaning about the fixation on the Fox family, but fortunately I can just keep ignoring them.

My other big thought is "I'm not sure if that is the most or least NSFW Poison Ivy I've seen"

Backup: Clownhunter has turned down help from Batman, Leslie Thompkins, the Red Hood, and everyone else who has offered it to him, thinking that he can handle being a vigilante on the streets of Gotham City by himself. But when he takes a shot at fighting the Scarecrow one-on-one, he’ll learn very quickly how much in this city he’s not ready for yet.

Oh for fuck's sake.

HE HAD RETIRED! HIS STORY WAS OVER! IT WAS A GOOD, LEGIT, VERY SATISFYING CONCLUSION THAT AVOIDED KICKING HIM WHILE HE WAS DOWN AND GAVE HIM BACK SOME LOST HOPE!

But of course we can never have nice things, so they are bringing him back just to punish him for correctly pointing out that Batman's way leaves something to be desired.

IDK I think Tynion's run has been refreshingly willing to admit that Bruce is kind of an idiot sometiimes and he doesn't have all the answers and his way doesn't always work

So I hope "Clownhunter needs to admit Batman is Always Right" won't be how things play out here

Question as I haven't been keeping up with the Flash that much. So they not only brought back Wally's kids, but they've also kept that his daughter is also connected to the Speed Force?

Yes, Wally is the main Flash while Barry is off doing whatever in the Muktiverse.
