I had no hope for this event and yet it managed to disappoint me by its Doctor Spectrum not being female.

I hope the Squadron Supreme 'native' to the Marvel Universe shows up to straighten things out, I loved Hickman's Hyperion and Straczynski's Nighthawk is honestly one of my favourite characters. Really hope he's alive again.

So, did Clark Gregg cut off Jason Aaron in traffic once or something? He REALLY hate Agent Coulson, doesn't he?

Unless I'm mistaken, Gerry Duggan simply killed Coulson when he suspected that Captain America was actually a Hydra agent back in Secret Empire. Aaron is the one who resurrected him just to be an evil tool of Mephisto who hates superheroes, formed his own evil version of the Avengers and then sold his soul to Mephisto to create an alternate reality and now is trapped inside an artifact as a result.

I mean, it seems to me an awful lot of stuff to do to a fan favorite character from the MCU. All Agent May has had happen (I think) is that she's now in the FBI. Like, it was clearly a conscious choice to use that character, it just seems kind of mean-spirited to take all the things that made him appealing and remove them, while turning him into a moustache-twirling villain.

In the alternate world of this comic miniseries, apparently. They did have a slow burn reveal of everything so IIRC this is really our first indication of that aspect of the universe. No idea if it replaced all religions or just the Christian ones but I think it likely did.
