It follows from a couple of that event's Superman books, which'd had stories starring the Shilo Norman version of Mister Miracle.
It's a six-issue mini by the same writer, Brandon Easton. It's present-day, focusing on Shilo's careers as masked super-escape artist and superhero.
After a freefalling performance in the former capacity - and a stressful conversation with his manager Vito - he gave one in the latter, apprehending a Suicide Slum arsonist.

The next day, while Vito took Denise through the protocols Shilo required prior to a relationship, Shilo went on Good Morning, Metropolis - and met accusations of fraud and theft on its " weekly social media summit ".

(Thaddeus Brown's the human escape artist who first had the Mister Miracle identity, solely for his performances - Scott Free took up the identity to avenge his death.
The waxed mustache comes from back then.)

Later that day, Shilo's focus was entirely on the date with Denise Vito'd set up for him.

She wasn't.

That was Vito, letting him know " there's a hold on all your finances pending a fraud investigation. "
A second attack rained down on him - one that, dodging, he identified as " Boom Tubes - but directed as energy blasts. "
His Mother Box had nothing to add, due to " cosmic static interference ".

' - necessary. '
He shielded himself in time from the attack behind him.
Another one blew him forward - he caught himself and turned, facing his attacker.
" Weak. Stupid. Worthless. "
" Who.. are.. you? "

(Pagecount's 7 of 22 from issue #1.
Issue #2 came out this week, suggesting an explanation for " Never Free " - and perhaps the whole mini - that wouldn't undercut any recent, well-regarded stories with characters that have previous history.
Writing on this is Brandon Easton, as mentioned above - art's Fico Ossio, colors're Rico Renzi, and letters're Rob Leigh.
Publisher's DC.)

Right, Big Barda's daughter. Never mind.
I still don't believe her real name is N'Vir.
