Really, that's their plan.

Make Joker watch Jerry Springer for six months.

I would say that's the dumbest thing I ever heard, but then there was the time a doctor told Joker he had a terminal illness, which set off the Last Laugh arc.

I love this series, the idea of turning Joker's brain to mush by making him watch crappy shows nonstop.

I always find it hilarious when writers are like "TV/the internet/other thing I'm scared of the way cavemen feared fire is bad!"

The message here seems to be that television has made the world like this

I don't know if that's true but if it is, television has my sincere thanks

Because that's exactly how I like the world

I love the world just as it is today. I can get food, get booze, get drugs and get laid by tapping a few buttons on a screen.

I am constantly a few clicks away from anything I desire from soft pillows to hardcore porn.

The world as it is today is as close to my vision of paradise as I'm likely to get in my lifetime short of an alien invasion happening where creatures land on earth who want to just eat all the people I hate

I think the message is more that a certain TYPE of television is bad - if people get rewarded with fame for behaving as they do on things like the Jerry Springer Show, that will encourage such behaviour. Also, it will train an audience to look down upon and mock the disadvantaged people such programmes highlight.

I mean I don't really see the issue there personally

And I think the Jerry Springer show is the egg not the chicken. People are like this and always have been. We just heard about it less when we got information by carrier pigeon and not a box in our house
