I still can't believe that they took the Phil Coulson, Son of Coul, from the MCU and...

Introduced him as a guy named "Cheese" along with Nick Fury Jr
Retconned him into being basically the MCU Coulson over time
Had Deadpool murder him
And brought him back as a psychotic Mephisto-worshipping Amurica-First guy willing to reshape the world to play out his weird little games.

Don't forget the part where someone (*cough*jasonaaron*cough*) rewrote his personality from being a guy who was a big nerd about superheroes to the extent he could list every X-Man that ever was, and had a nerd-off with Kamala Khan to someone who actually hated superheroes all along.

The thing is though, that Deadpool killed Phil because Phil had uncovered that something was up with Cap.

So it's not like he has any reason to blame the real Cap. Uber fanboy Phil saw through Stevil and was ready to blow the whistle.

Wanting revenge on Wade, on the other hand...

Any inconsistencies with history, continuity and basic personality (like ol' Jonah being apparently willing to go along with Evphil's insanity) can be easily explained by the demonic cube.
However, it doesn't explain how Coulson could make those mistakes, if he's supposed to be an uber-fan.
Maybe he just got lazy while rewriting reality.

A thought occurs:
Phil going from what he was like to a raving, devil-worshiping nutcase who actually just hates all superheroes and wanted to rewrite the world into his own personal darkfic...
... essentially, if the Squadron are the Justice League, he's Maxwell Lord (or possibly Jean Loring?).
Yikes.

(And I suppose stretching the comparison further would make this the Squadron Supreme equivalent of the New 52?)

Dogphisto's expression in that last panel really looks like he's just irritated at Evphil's exposition.

Just like the Sphinx did. (Or Morgan Le Fay, I suppose.)

It's the plan he's stealing, not the means.
