Why did you put the word "comic" in quotes? It's a comic. Whether you think it'll be good or not won't change that. It's a YA graphic novel, but it's still a comic. And to be clear, when I say "comic," I mean within the medium of comics. Not all comics are graphic novels, but all graphic novels are comics.
Plus, DC has been putting out a great number of YA or kids graphic novels in the last few years. Same as Marvel, they've been trying to catch up to Scholastic's success. Plus, Mariko Tamaki wrote one just a few years ago, Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass, which was pretty good.
As cyberghostface said, the outrage for this is ridiculous. The target audience is young adults, same as the other DC YA books. You can ignore it and the world will continue on.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
