Psycho pirate: We have seen it happened again and again, right? Every time there is some crisis. Someone gets hurt. A world gets hurt. So much heartbreak and horror. It is tragic. Then the heroes of earth -0 celebrate the win. But because of the restart. They don’t even remember who are missing. You know.

Oh yay, more meta crap.

Because Infinite Crisis, Final Crisis, Countdown and Death Metal weren't enough.

Unlike all of the above (except arguably Final Crisis) this one's actually good tho, imo.

I enjoyed Infinite Crisis. This series, like that one, were pretty straightforward - but with high stakes - like COIE. Final and Death Metal just seemed like someone was writing them and not "real" so were hard to get into.

Not quite following you on that one.

I think they mean the metatextuality is so heavy-handed it breaks immersion.

I don't hate IC, but it's the culmination of early 00's grimdarkness within the DCU and I don't like it. Final Crisis is vastly incoherent but it does have some elements which I like a lot (Darkseid being actually scary, the Anti-Life spreading, etc), but I agree that it becomes too meta for its own good at some point.

Don't know if culmination is exactly the right word for Infinite Crisis and grimdarkness, since it just kept on going...
(But then, that's been one of DC's problems for the last sixteen years. Big event comes along, then at the end it goes "now the grimdark is over and everything is good again!"
And next week, some more Teen Titans get murdered.)

So far this is a lot more coherent than those three, though I did enjoy Final Crisis despite that.

At first I was like "The shittiest version of Fate, Lady Quark, Magog, Yellow Lantern Joker, Superwoman, Sivana... this is the worst team ever."

But you know what? I'm down for "Characters who have had enough of this multiverse-affecting bullshit and that one Earth that's always in the middle of it." Sure, they're idiots for falling for Darkseid's crap, and this IS horribly meta, but it's also refreshingly old school in a way. I miss the original pre-Crisis Earth-2 and it's an interesting take on the multiverse to acknowledge that these older iterations existed and have been over-written. (It's like when you find that backup of a backup of a backup on an old floppy disc...)

Plus, we get Bones back in his classic Infinity Inc era outfit, and he's pissed about it.

I love how Psycho Pirate neatly sidesteps any mention of the part he played in at least two of those multiversal crises he's talking about here

I really liked this series. Pelletier's pencils and Jade's appearances were an extra treat.

I wish Lady Quark had more screentime though.

Reminds me of the Astro City story about the guy who's wife was erased in Crisis (not the Samaritan story but a different one). Except of course that guy had no powers. These "heroes" do.

Bones and Machinehead do have a point. The idea that you could be rewritten at any time and never even know it is absolutely a terrifying prospect.

But anyone who thinks Darkseid won’t betray you at the first opportunity just isn’t paying attention. His name is literally “dark side.”
