Merry Little Batman: An animated family action comedy destined to join the rogues’ gallery of classic holiday movies. Sounds to me like Damien Wayne is going to be pulling a Home Alone to me.

I'm just rather surprised to see Steve Urkel show up in anything these days without something resembling a proper reboot. Just this and an episode of Scooby Doo and Guess Who. Judging by the way he was handled on that show, I doubt that any of the other Family Matters characters will show up in this one

Damian in a Home Alone homage is such a fun idea

With Damian I see much more straightforward violence. If it were Dick, I'd expect more insanely complicated Rube Goldberg contraptions

I'm now just picturing a scene where the robbers skid on marbles and are like "Uh oh we're going to have to deal with a lot of wacky traps that will thwart our robbery in a slapstick manner!" and then they round a corner and Damian is there with a machine gun like "PREPARE FOR DEATH"

Yeah, Damian is much less sadistic than Kevin McAllister was

He lacks the cold blooded joy at his enemies suffering that led Kevin to grow up to become the Jigsaw Killer

Given that Steve Urkel has, as far as I'm aware, no pop culture profile outside the US (And derived solely from one US series from the 80's I believe), I'm going to give a hard pass to that latter one.

He has no pop culture profile to speak of inside the US either as far as I know, which is why I mention it: Producing a Steve Urkel animated special in 2021 is mindboggling to me. To the best of my knowledge the only person who actually wants this is Jaleel White himself.

So, yeah, I'm going to watch it just because I can't understand why it was made

I have many memories of watching Family Matters with my family in my youth. No disputing that Urkel is likely not a household name, but I have a huge nostalgia for him and the rest of the show. Especially Reginald VelJohnson - aka Detective Carl Winslow, aka the cop from Die Hard, aka the cop who collected the Ghostbusters for their meeting with the mayor, aka Mark Grayson's principal (and school namesake).
