This is a terrible accusation to make, as it implies that I'm taking the wrong lessons from the books or that I'm asking uncomfortable questions about heroism in general. I'm pretty sure the last Ewing issue of U.S.Avengers established that AIM could easily fall back into bad habits.

After Sunspot and Toni left the group the more villainous elements of AIM came together and returned it to doing evil science

I don't think there's anything morally wrong with preferring to write villains. Villains tend to be easier to write conflict with one another as they're used to taking bad choices over good ones, and thereby easier to write drama.

Of all the things I could say about Hickman's writing, I don't know if the idea that he enjoys writing the bad guys more than the good guys is one of them.
And usually he is at least consistent about having the bad guys doing bad things (like shooting their own minions) so we know who's probably supposed to be the villains.
Except when he's writing the Illuminati.
