Does the cover tell the truth

There is a proud tradition in comics of having covers showing shocking moments that appear slightly differently in the book, or happen and are quickly undone.

Justice League Infinity #4 definitely got my attention with its cover, featuring two characters not usually paired together



And does it happen in the issue?

In this Darkseid's universe, he declared war on earth, obviously, and Wonder Woman convinced him that continuing the war would not suit anybody and worked to broker a peace...


So...yes, the cover is not misleading. Except that it's a different Darkseid and a different Diana than the readers are used to...

I'm reminded of the ol' Super Powers cartoon as a kid. That had Darkseid obsessed with Wonder Woman back in the day.

You know, Diana going to Apokolips as an ambassador and managing the seemingly impossible task of reforming Darkseid doesn't actually seem wildly out of line with her origins.

But it probably should've involved more bondage, yeah?
