DC has announced Monkey Prince (who first appeared in DC Festival of Heroes: The Asian Superhero Celebration #1)  is getting his own series next year and has released this free story on DC Universe Infinite.

It hasn't been clarified yet.

In the Special, Marcus says Pigsy had told him that the original Monkey King was his father, but as far as he knows he's already got parents, but they seem odd, as both parents both seem to wear space (or hazmat) suits around the house for some reason.

I honestly don't see a market for this series - if Agents of Atlas, featuring some fan favourites alongside new characters and an atypical plot, failed to make profits, fresh character Monkey Prince is doomed to fail too.

Both were meant to attract Asian and Asian American readers.

They have Asian protagonists, that’s all they have in common. Whether one did well or not does not mean the other will have the same level of success.
