This is probably a really stupid question, but did Black Mamba and her oil drilling minions personally destroy Sauron’s lab or did the operations at the bottom of the mountain somehow cause oil to leak up to the mountains themselves with enough pressure to destroy his tubes?

The second, bizarrely enough. At least the second one includes the introduction of pterodactyl DNA. Pretty sure we don't share an ancestry with pterodactyls to devolve into.

Is it clear how "bad" Karl Lykos is when he isn't Sauron? He seems like a stand-up guy then. When he is Sauron he goes... full Sauron.

Usually Karl's an okay sort of person, just with an insatiable need to feed on life-force.
Problem is, once he starts nomming on a Mutant's life energy, he just can't stop, and then... well.
