I'm glad to see Ben and MJ appear to be friends again.

Did they forget this isn't the old Kraven? How could he "miss" the way Spider-Man made light of a situation when they faced...what, once? And he didn't even have time to really quip before he was taken down.

Ben is really flubbing it here. Kraven isn't exactly a pushover, but' cmon. Ben just whiffing him like that.

Yeah I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of generic Kraven appearances in the future with the author forgetting that the real Kraven is dead. Although if I had to guess I'd say Spencer planned it that way.

For added "What the hell" consider also that Ben has never actually met Kraven in his entire life as he is a clone who never actually encountered Kraven given that the guy was dead for most if not all of Ben's existence

So we have someone who isn't Kraven acting like they are Kraven and have fought Spider-Man

And someone who isn't Peter Parker acting they are Peter Parker and have fought Kraven

All that's missing is for the Chameleon to team up with Kraven and act like he's his brother while taking the form of Miles Warren and acting like he's the one who cloned Ben while Ben acts like it was him who got faked out with robot parents by the Chameleon

Ben remembers all of the stuff that happened to Peter to the point his blood sample was taken for cloning. It's ever so slightly outdated. It was because of this that Peter realized he was the real deal (only to be told otherwise decades later). With his life in danger and him not knowing if he even real, his thoughts drifted to...Mary Jane. The clone would have thought of Gwen Stacy. And that clinched it for him.

So, yes, Ben should remember Kraven...but I'm not sure if he remembers Kraven's Last Hunt.

The real Kraven is alive, still friends with Squirrel Girl, and protects endangered animals from poachers. I will not be taking taking any questions at this time.

Honestly that retcon makes as much sense as any of the others Marvel has done so yeah as far as I'm concerned the Kraven from "Hunted" was a clone or maybe a clone hired by Norman Osborn or maybe a shapechanging lifelike robot the Chameleon made

and the real Kraven is fine and sometimes has an adventure with Squirrel Girl

I don't think it was even a retcon, all of the old Kraven stories still happened. I think it's more like the time Sandman got brainwashed into being evil again except Kraven doesn't have an excuse.

Oh no I meant that I would be fine if a writer retconned away Hunted as just like "Oh that wasn't the real Kraven" so that the real Kraven can continue to have fun adventures with Squirrel Girl

Like when Marvel retconned that HORRIBLE New X-men story with Magneto because they realised "Hey you know what maybe it's not super great to portray a Jewish Holocaust survivor as acting like a nazi while off his face on drugs his teenage lover got him hooked on"

RIght before Squirrel Girl's book ended, they squeezed in a bit where a Kraven pulled from the past by Galactus was like "don't believe everything you hear about me", and I have a feeling that's the last we're gonna hear on that front for a long time.

Because they really are treating the two Kravens interchangeably, I doubt hunted will ever be brought up anyway, it's gonna be like the two Principal Skinners on the simpsons.

I assume this is perfect Marvel cloning where the Kraven copy has perfect memories of the original ... up to a point ... unless it's plot convenient.

Isn't Kraven one of those villains that can get around the Spider-Sense via chemical means? It isn't crazy that he's doing so well. I can't remember if Ben fought Vlad in the 90s (before Kaine killed him) but I'm pretty sure his only knowledge of the original Kraven is from Peter's memories. He's bound to be rusty.

I don't think the High Evolutionary uses genetic memory with the clones. Certainly not with the "sons" Kraven demanded he made. He had to relearn everythng.

Most of what the Jackal knows about cloning was learned from the High Evolutionary so it'd assume they have similar methods.

Honestly, it's hard to say what he did and didn't do himself. I doubt the High Evolutionary taught him how to make the carrion virus. That said, I don't think Kraven wanted them to have all his memories. He wanted sons, not copies of himself. If they were all exact copies, the Last Son of Kraven would at least be missing a limb or something, but he seemed to murder the rest with ease.

I'm confused, which Spider-clone is this, is this the one who went to texas and had adventures with Hummingbird, or the one who was the Jackal, or a different one?

This is Ben Reilly, who was the Jackal during Clone Conspiracy or whatever that storyline was called. Not one hundred percent sure, but I'm assuming the one with Hummingbird was Kaine, since as far as I know Ben and Kaine are the only Peter clones running around right now (at least I hope so).

He was nearly devoured by an Inheritor. In doing so, the Inheritor consumed the "live" he had lived. Including the ones where he lived for fifteen seconds before be electrified. With those portions of his soul gone, Ben is pretty much back to normal. Not sure what he remembers though.

It's about as sensible as "he died so many times that his soul is cracked" as being the reason he became crazy/morally flawed rather than it just being trauma induced.

In fairness, defeating the Inheritor that way was clever. Absorbing the clearly damaged life energy out of Ben left him catatonic. Basically it poisoned him. What makes no sense is that Ben somehow not only survived it, but had a "factory reset". Because that's how souls work, I guess? Like a corrupted smartphone?

This is Ben (the Jackal one). The other guy is Kaine. Not sure if he's still with Hummingbird. She might be dead. She said she was destined to die soon, so she may have kicked the bucket since then.
