I mean, Pierce is a little more sympathetic here when he talks about "their evil" when you consider every magic person in the El's kingdom who isn't an El is in a fucking prison, for the simple virtue of being a magic person.

I'm pretty sure most of them are just metahumans, not magic. They simply don't know the difference. Anyway, Pierce has no idea that they're in a prison and I'm pretty sure only Bruce, Harley, and Alfred know about the prison. I doubt Kal-El would be down for tossing them in jail...or even Jor-El.

For the pseudo-medieval era that's being invoked, all metas *are* magic.

If we're going by what we know that's literally stated in-text, Pierce doesn't know about the prison, he just knows metas *disappear* in the kingdom of El, which is arguably worse.

If you're saying Jor El didint know about all the magic people in his kingdom getting renditioned to Homan Square, Kingdom of El Edition, then it just makes him incompetent and ignorant.

This doesn't appear to be doing many characters any favors. I suppose that's the point, a Game of Thrones style 'everyone is cruddy' kind of story.

Y'know, considering that the Amazon's are pretty medieval already, I can't help but think it'd be more interesting to go the opposite route and have them be all futuristic.

I'm just going to write this one off as another 'Everyone kills each other by the end' storyline and move on to the next thing. All I ask is that this comic not be the only instance of Wonder Woman being a lady-loving lady moving forward.

Scratch that. I think Wonder Woman should only be a lady-loving lady moving forward. I know when some artists think of Wonder Woman that all they think about is 'Wonder Woman... that's about Steve Trevor, right?' so confusion will naturally set in. God willing, we will prevail in this mission and it will be incredible.

In a way I almost pity Steve - dude was literally being upstaged by the competition before he was born. Anyone who wants to read about a good-hearted (maybe the only good-hearted) Army man named Steve committing acts of bravery, badassery, compassion, etc. in a world where 99% of heroes outpower him - they've got decades of Captain America books to choose from.

(And this is without touching the even-crueler theory that even Marston never thought of him as a character, so much as a fig-leaf to hide (well, "hide") all the lesbian shenanigans Golden Age Diana got up to.)

I would hardly call having a Wonder Woman who is only into ladies an erasure of any past bi-sexual depictions. That's almost akin to saying that the 2016 Ghostbusters movie erased the original Ghostbusters by merely existing. Unless I decided to take control of DC Comics and destroy ALL instances of Wonder Woman where she's depicted as having a relationship with a man, I really don't see an issue here.

Alright. You win. Wonder Woman will be bi-sexual in all my stories going forward, but those stories will only focus on her relationships with women.

I'm hoping that isn't really Zala who killed the prince. Martian Manhunter, perhaps? Ms. Martian? It's seems so pointless for Zala herself to have done so. Surely she would have targeted the king if she was going to get revenge for her dead father. This seems to have been done to deliberately increase the tensions between kingdoms.

Or is that the reason they made it a newish character rather than Kara? Kara just wouldn't have done that? Its not like they are wedded to the characters original parentages here, they could have made kara Kals sister.
