Mia Ikumi, manga artist who illustrated the popular early 00s magical girls manga Tokyo Mew Mew, died on March 7th of subarachnoid hemorrhage. She was buried in a private funeral. The news was an absolute shock for me, as the mangaka was only in her early 40s. At the time of her death she's been working on the remake anime of Tokyo Mew Mew (scheduled to air in July) and new edition of the manga, now including all sequels and spin-offs with improved art and new covers.

Aw man, that sucks. I hope she’ll be okay wherever she is now.
