So...ORCHIS knows Dr. Stasis is a Mr. Sinister clone. Or maybe even the original. Why are they okay with this? Are they DAFT? This is an even worse idea than M.O.D.O.K.!
To be fair, the X-men have their fair number of chronic backstabbers on their side. Gotta make things even.
Would be absolutely hilarious if at some point you have both the sinisters trying to betray their respective organizations to the other side simultaneously.
I mean, Charles and Magneto invited Mystique, who has never failed to betray every single team she has ever been a part of (not counting Destiny) to be part of the Quiet Council, more because they knew she'd try and get in anyway and at least this way they could pretend it was under control.
Ah, but he's not a mind-eraser, he's a mind-stealer! In the issue, Synch offers to give Ben back the memories he took, which is just weird. Why would he take the memories and not just erase them?
And yet it resolves so little. Stasis escaped. They stopped Cordyceps Jones, but it was Mojo who started that. Humanity now knows about resurrection, but it was implausible that they ever managed to keep it secret. Sunfire is leaving without ever doing anything beyond one speech. Nothing's happened with the Laura/Everett relationship.
Laura having adamantium bones now is one of the biggest changes to happen in this. And it was a mistake.
Oh, and Chinese Elon Luthor did...something? It honestly feels like the best person to deal with that thread would be Al Ewing since he's the only one writing an X-Book actually set on Mars, and I think it's really not something he'd want to waste his energy on. Especially after already telling an "Arrogant CEO Gets His Comeuppance" story in Immortal Hulk.
Mayhap the upcoming Hellfire Gala II and then the several months of Judgmnt Dy have something to do with that?
Although it also seems an awful lot like Duggan's style (see his GOTG / Infinity Nonsense). Lots of plots, lots of things that look like they should be big things, but not a lot actually happening.
-leaving without ever doing anything beyond one speech- In fairness with Shiro, for him that's sticking around for ages. Amazing he even last that long, really.
The wrap-up here mirrors the end of his tenure on Marauders, as well. The whole team decides to shake things up at the same time for no really in-universe justifiable reason.
But usually shake-ups are because the writer's leaving the title. Duggan's only been writing for thirteen issues. (depending on whether we're counting one-shots and tie-ins.)
... though perhaps those Elections of the X-Men thingies Marvel was doing is also playing a part?

Orchis offically has like 3 people obviously going to betray them on their council, which I think at this stage actually is more than Krakoa.
