Well, that's uh... it's a little passive-aggressive, no?
Kamala: "Perfectly reasonable explanation for why she doesn't visit a city on another continent from where she lives." Kareem: "Ah, you're self-hating!"
“Why don’t you take every chance you can get to come visit if not permanently move to the country that’s infamous for its treatment of women of influence like yourself? You clearly loathe your Pakistani heritage. Why do you hate your people so? They need you, anything bad that happens to them is on your hands you monster. It’s not like I or any other Pakistani-based hero can possibly help them out or anything. Not judging or anything, just putting ideas out there.”
I don't remember Red Dagger being this much of an asshole.
Ms Marvel really seems like Adrian Alphona's other major creation; it was one of Marvel's best comics but it feel apart the second the original creative team left.
Oh, yeah. Outlawed. That was a thing that happened. (Whatever happened there? *checks* "senator was being manipulated by Roxxon." ... yep, sounds about right.)
I mean, they were well on their way to running Ms. Marvel into the ground before that, the Young Avengers have moved on to other things, Future Foundation and West Coast Avengers were already gone, most of the solo* teen heroes got folded into the Champions already, and I’m happy to get any Power Pack content I can.
*That Wasp book was so criminally underrated.
It looks like Miles’ Spider-Man is still going strong. Like a lot of legacy comics, he’s gotten a lot of reboots but it’s been a while since they needed the artificial sales boost. Heck, they were using Miles to draw people into the new Darkhawk comic the same way they were using Peter in the original.
(Based on the promotion, I’m a little relieved that New Warriors tie-in comic never happened)
Honestly I'm more inclined to blame Covid than one bad storyline. Runaways was on hiatus for long enough that I thought they were cancelled several issues before they were actually cancelled. Sure they know they need to publish a Spider-Man comic every week but that didn't stop them from cancelling those Gwen Stacy and Daily Bugle minis mid-story.
Miles' book is still going. Dunno about the 'strong' bit, though. Whole load of guff about clones and alternate realities at the moment. And the new costume is a definite step down from the original.
This feels super out of place and really insulting to Kamala and Red Dagger. Her home is in New Jersey, she's supposed to move and uproot her entire life on a dime because of one conversation? Don't ruin Red Dagger for me Marvel.

It's where the people she loves are.
And the story quality of Kamala's comics doesn't have anything to do with geography.
It started to decline the second Wilson left.

But any book that hasn't had a relaunch since 2018 and survived 2020 must be selling well.
