Great art, but man was this whole thing an incoherent mess. Even making it half as long probably wouldn't help much.

You say that, but I read "Great art" just as my eyes flickered back to that final panel. I'm...outside of Liefeld and "9 Chickweed Lane" I'm not sure I've often encountered a person with calves the same length as their torso.

A very good point haha. Some of the art in the series overall has been good, but I can appreciate with how it all devolved into a lot of issues of just incoherence and not a lot happening, that at some point even the creative team stopped overly caring about small things like actually realistic human anatomy. Freakishly long calves, when you just stop giving a shit lol.

I have said it before and will say it again, Tom King is fervently of the belief that “I particularly like this one character” + “Lots of exposition and slow pacing" = ART.

Which…actually, now that I think of it, is also the modus operandi of “9 Chickweed Lane”, so maybe there’s just too much of a market for these windbags.

In the mirror, without costumes... yet still using the names 'Bat' and 'Cat' and not 'Bruce' and 'Selina'. I don't think she's quite managing to separate their two sides as fully as she thinks.

It's just bad writing trying to force the nicknames down our throats. It doesn't come off as natural and certainly doesn't come off as enjoyable to read.

This whole thing is awkward and I'm slightly embarassed to read it. The day they can stop calling each other "bat and cat", they way it's OVERLY used and forced, like something approved from Hot Topic, can't come soon enough.

I've said this before, but writers, if you're not allowed to use swear words, don't bother with them. People can talk without cursing.

The censors are especially odd because this is supposed to be a Black Label book.

Does anyone else find the faces for the artwork kind of lifeless in a sort of disturbing way.
