It's really unfortunate how sloppy the artwork has gotten on this title as new issues have been released. It's been a great read that could have been a top seller for collected editions for years to come, but with the line work and detailing getting worse and worse with each new month it feels more and more like editorial has been pushing out barely-finished work to meet single issue sales quotas.

I haven't seen the full issue yet, but this doesn't look like poor quality artwork to me. It looks like the artist is intentionally going for a looser, more gestural effect.

Not realistic ≠ sloppy or bad.

Then why would you make this comment? Can you point to where I said that my problem with the artwork was a lack of realism?

Because you're making qualitative pronouncements about the art and the scans you chose to accompany that post do not demonstrate poor quality in my opinion. Feel free to dislike the style all you want, but I don't think this is the work of a bad artist. Or inadvertently sketchy due to lack of time rather than being a deliberate choice.

Art is subjective though I thought it has been quite great, far better than some of the artists in the original series, in fact. I really couldn't possibly fathom calling this barely-finished work but to each their own.

For my humble opinion the ink-work could be better. That's what bothers me most. But then that's usually it for me anyway, inks can break or make art.
