Except they didn't kill them, they've contained them whilst letting them live out there power fuelled conquest fantasies.

The only difference between fascism and cancer is that you can't occasionally convince a cancer cell here or there to stop being cancerous. It's certainly always possible to turn individuals away from fascism here and there. But fascism exists to conquer and destroy anything that isn't fascism. It does not allow space in the world for anything that isn't fascism. It considers anything outside of fascism weakness that must be annihilated without hesitation or remorse. That just adds to the horror of fascism -- aside from folks around the edges who can be reached and peeled away with kindness and compassion, fascism must be met at its own level to be defeated, which is really a loss for everyone.

Containing it here to its own little bubble seems to be the most humane move -- although arguably not humane for the millions, even billions of people and other living sentient beings that the relatively smaller number of folks from the Vault slaughtered in that alternate universe, since I'm not clear whether those victims were actual living beings or simulations. But I think Forge only chose containment here because he knew it was the only solution that would work.

Also, poor Caliban. That dude just cannot catch a break.

Is it bad I kinda wanted Illyana to, just once, shout "For the Honour of Grayskull" fir the transformation? (though Waiting for the Trade sort of did that)

I do like the look though....

Forge is a tricky character to get right. I feel like he's at his best when he's broadly well-intentioned but concerningly pragmatic and mercenary - and creative in ingenious and disturbing ways. This feels just right, I dig it.
