It's not like an empire of shapeshifters are their ancestral enemies or anything.
I imagine the Shi'Ar are just sick of regime changes at this point. They change leadership almost as much as the UK. "Artificial teenage daughter of Lilandra and a human? Literally hatched months ago? Fuck it, as long as she's not a megalomaniac she'll be better than D'ken, Deathbird, or Vulcan were."
"MWA-HAHAHA! You have fallen for my plan! My FIENDISH PLAN! Which was to make you do what you would've done anyway!"
Presumably the Kin Crimson covered this up because it made the Shi'ar look kind of stupid. As opposed to all the things the Shi'ar have done that make them look really stupid.
The Ten Shames aren't the Shi'ar's worst crimes. It's their biggest bloopers. Number 1 wasn't even a genocide, it was an attempted genocide that resulted in the Shi'ar receiving a brutal asskicking.
Since they were found out by the Skrull and the Kree which are currently in a tense alliance. Suddenly it's a good idea to make amends before they declare war on them.
I've been enjoying this run and the SWORD run that lead into it, but I find myself struggling to figure out what Brand's overall endgame is. Granted, I'm not great with figuring out chess master types to begin with.
I get a big feeling of "Only I am smart enough to keep the entire galaxy from plunging into chaos and anything I do in pursuit of that is justified."
Her overall plan seems to be taking over the galaxy / universe / delete where applicable for The Greater Good.
But she's making the stock villain mistake of using unnecessarily laborious and circuitous methods to get there, sometimes involving manipulating people to do things they probably would've done (or let her do) anyhow. Like, one of her late-stage plans is replace SHIELD. Which, given there is currently no SHIELD to begin with, seems like she could've just stepped in there and persuaded the world's governments to begin with.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.

Date: 2022-11-03 10:05 pm (UTC)... okay, Xandra got murdered, but that wasn't actually Cal's fault for once.
And she got better anyway.
It's a little eerie.
Just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Waiting, and waiting, and waiting...
