considering how there's over 1 billion Hindus in the world I don't see how Yama's realm can be lacking for new souls.

For that matter, does Mephisto *not* get a cut of the souls of those who believe in the Christian hell?

Even today, I guarantee you there are people out there believing in all of those gods/belief structures/religions. Maybe not a LOT, but odds are good you can find a handful who genuinely worship them.

Sure, you may have to work hard to find someone worshipping the Babylonian gods or Mayans, but Norse? Greek? Egyptian? Not that far-fetched.

Babylonian/Mesopotamian gods were adopted by Christianity in a way too, as demons, so they probably get their share from the same source as Mephisto.

You know, this got me thinking about how Chthon and Set and other elder gods are trying to get back to Earth dimension. While the reason they fled is still there waiting to do brunch. Has their exile made them suicidal?

Well, unless Atum's death during Secret Invasion actually stuck. But, anyway, most of the time they tried getting back he was still there chilling in the Sun.
