MJ walks in on Peter being smooched by another woman, and knows Peter well enough to recognise that, since this is Peter, they clearly aren't in a relationship because there's no way Peter can actually sustain a relationship with another human being long enough for them to kiss him that many times, and therefore something else is going on.

You have to admire MJ's genre-saviness. Anger? Jealousy? Nah, she immediately recognizes it's a contrived misunderstanding and goes straight to teasing Peter about it.
