Maybe it's because I don't know much about kids outside my off habit of reading parenting magazines when bored at work, but I always thought her to be somewhere around 4-6, definitely older than 3 at the start.

The art's amazing. Somehow Azuma manages to mix that more realistic style of the buildings and older characters with the the more cartoony style of Yotsuba without making her look alien to the manga. I wish Certain Artists (*cough*KuboTite*cough*) would take a few lessons from him.

Magic Man turning a bird inside out, turning the kid into a giant foot and then flying into the sky and escaping in a burst of fireworks forming the words "EAT IT" is pure art.
